A visual artist working in the field of documentary photography. Tkachenko won the first World Press Photo prize for his Escape series. Another series, Forbidden Zones, won the European Publishers' Award for Photography.
His work has been exhibited in Russia, Europe and North America.

I demand the immediate withdrawal of all Russian occupation troops from the territory of the sovereign state of Ukraine, beyond the borders established by international law in 1991.
The terrorist Russian government and all those involved in the occupation are criminals, they must be brought to justice and pay reparations.
Peace must be restored to the entire territory of Ukraine!
