Nika 
Parkhomovskaia

Nika Parkhomovskaia, curator, producer and a researcher in the fields of theater,  dance and performance.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, she has been living
and working in Europe since 2022. She graduated from
the Russian National Institute of Performing Arts and Theatre Leaders School. Former deputy editor-in-chief
of Theater magazine., she has been published in various Russian-speaking and European media, gave lectures and talks on the history of theater and dance, cultural management and mediation in France, Switzerland,  Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Kazakhstan, Spain, Czech Republic, and Poland.

Formerly administrative director of the New European Theater festival and general producer of the New Space of the Theater of Nations (Moscow), she won the «Golden Mask» theatre award for the production of «Exploration of Horror». She has produced and curated more than
70 international projects, festivals, labs and workshops, including the socio-cultural space «The Apartment»; SOTA contemporary dance educational platform;
«The Special View» first Russian social theater festival, «Gala» performance by Jerome Bel in Moscow, etc.
Nika is currently writing a thesis on theatre in exile
at Zurich University and is working on various cultural and socially engaged projects.

The most significant curatorial projects (2022-2025)

 

Theater and Performance

 

  • Co-curating and producing of Anti-War Playwright’s Festival Echo Lyubimovka Zurich and directing performative reading of a play «Women in dark» written by Ukrainian playwrights Iryna Serebriakova and Masha Denisova based on testimonies of women living in Kiev in 2022-2023 (February-April 2025);

  • Dramaturgy of a contemporary German-language theatre piece «Gleichzeit» with non-professional actors (including migrants) at MAXIM theater Zurich (June-December  2024);

  • Co-curation and production of a participatory performative exhibition musée des histoires non imaginées at TNG LYON, the project was also a part of the Sens Interdit Festival (April-October 2023).

Dance

 

  • Co-curation and production of ON/OFF hybrid platform for Russian-speaking and European contemporary dance artists: four online residencies, one offline residency with the participation of contemporary dance artists from various European countries; off-program (two online-Symposiums, more than 30 online-events, including weekly artist talks, public lectures, and various discussions); professional exchange program (October 2022 - January 2025).

  • Co-curation of the Russian Contemporary Dance Showcase in Geneva as part of the Antigel Festival (February 2024).
