Artists Against
the Kremlin: VIRUS

It is a project curated by the Berlin-based gallery All Rights Reversed, which supports artists persecuted by the Russian government. In collaboration with The Moscow Times — the leading independent English-language media outlet focused on Russia — the exhibition reflects on how the Kremlin’s authoritarian practices are beginning to “infect” other countries.

The idea of the “virus” becomes a metaphor for the global spread of tools such as propaganda, fake news, and repression, increasingly adopted by governments drifting away from democratic principles.

Artists from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and the diaspora explore urgent questions through their works: is this disease of power inherited or acquired? Can it be cured?
And can democracy develop immunity?
