venue:
Auditorium Santa Margherita - Emanuele Severino Virginia
June 21 2025, 00.30 - 04.00

Once again this year, Art Night continues at the Santa Margherita Auditorium — Emanuele Severino, with a rich program of video art.

In a symbolic journey through micro and macrocosms — both real and imagined, natural and artificial — the nocturnal program explores three fundamental dimensions of our existence: what surrounds us, what lies within us, and what we leave behind as a trace of our passage through the world.

The featured works delve into old and new worlds shaped by technology, as well as the relationship between body and machine — aiming to define the boundaries of our agency and the extent of our freedom within this new ecosystem.

The study days offer an in-depth reflection on the theme of preserving ephemeral works of art, exploring two distinct dimensions of temporality.
On the one hand, there are works that are inherently ephemeral: time-based artworks conceived to exist only for a limited period or under specific conditions.
On the other hand, there are works that become ephemeral due to the precarious context of their creation. This includes works by artists in exile, who operate in conditions of transience, without stable positioning or institutional support.
These artists, often lacking resources and visibility, create works that risk being lost in the absence of a lasting context to ensure their preservation and accessibility.
